Confidentiality, ethics and mandated reporting information

Please be aware that any information provided to Dr. Morgan, his colleagues, or other program members, as part of the Keep Moving Forward program, is not confidential. The program is not mental health counseling and therefore there is no assurance that information will be kept confidential. Before you exchange information, please give appropriate consideration to what you are sharing.

However, because Dr. Morgan is a licensed psychologist (licensed in Utah and Washington), he is ethically and legally obligated to report certain information, regardless of where the information is obtained. Here are the circumstances where he would be required to make a report:

-Upon receiving reasonable cause to believe that a child has suffered abuse or neglect. Please see legal requirements for Washington and Utah

-Upon receiving reasonable cause to believe that abuse, abandonment, financial exploitation or neglect of a vulnerable adult has occurred. Please see legal requirements for Washington and Utah.

-Upon receiving reasonable cause to believe that a person has made an actual threat of physical violence against a reasonably identifiable victim or victims. Please see legal requirements for Washington and Utah.
